Dobry den,
Pokusam sa nainstalovat FreeBSD 4.5 na server ALR Relolution Q-SMP s dvoma
procesormi. Instalacia prejde bez nejakych problemov. Pokial vsak skompilujem
jadro s multiprocesorovou podporou, kernel pri starte zahlasi:
AP1 cannot initialize. Panic? (y/n)
Pokial dam n, bootovanie pokracuje, pokial nenarazi na inicializaciu
klavesnice a za nou zostane stat bez dalsich hlasok. BIOS som upgradoval na
poslednu verziu (4.04.6). Hladal som na nete a nasiel som este par zufalcov s
podobnym problemom, vcelku ale bezali na starsich verziach (3.x, maximalne
4.0). Nevie niekto, ci je to vobec mozne rozchodit? Jednoprocesorova verzia
ide bez problemov...
V konfiguracii kernelu som zo standartneho konfiguraku (GENERIC) len
odkomentoval riadky:
options SMP
options APIC_IO
